Game of Thrones Conquest: Dr. Cat explains stats ... again

Knowing what certain buffs or stats do is a very complex task. In this post, Dr. Cat, our international expert on statistics, try to clear some things for you. While we explained some in our Game of Thrones Conquest Stats and Buffs explained and GOT:C – WB Logic Explained: “Marcher Stats” post, WB “corrected” some mechanics (Thanks to Dr. Cat?). So its a good chance for Dr. Cat to take a deeper look at which stats are applied in which context.
Attention: This post may damage your brain!

Game of Thrones Conquest: Dr. Cat explains stats … again

Below, Dr. Cat tries to explain certain stats and how they are combined in the game when you fight your opponents. Note that compared to our GOT:C – WB Logic Explained: “Marcher Stats” it seems WB made some changes. After this post, you should all be able to read and understand completely a report from the game.

What you can expect

  • Summary of the new game mechanics
  • Computation of the stats shown in your “Stat” tab
  • Computation of the stats shown in the game reports from the “Stat” tab
  • Global picture including what is used when.

Note that during this entire post, because Dr. Cat, as every cat should be, is pretty damn lazy, only the stats for infantry are explained. No worry though, the other types of troop work in the same manner. In the same fashion, only the stats for attack are presented. But be aware that defense and health are behaving the same way as attack is.

So lets start with out “Game of Thrones Conquest: Dr. Cat explains stats … again” post!

Summary in two (or maybe more) words

Summary of the summary, but if you read only this you will make mistakes:

infantry attack while marching vs. player” works similarly to “defender attack“. “Defender attack” applies only when you defend. “Infantry attack while marching vs. player” applies only when you attack.

Verbatim from Dr Cat to his friend:

1. WB gives me headaches. Too bad I’m a cat and not a dog. I would have been able to use some “Milk of the puppy“. 🤔 Oh wait, is that called “Milk of the poppy”?

1.a Multiple “concepts” have the same name

1.b Same “concepts” have a different name

2. The stats from the Stats tab has the same definition as the stats form the gear, armory, research, talent or enhancement, but doesn’t regroup the same concept (corollary of point 1.a)

3. The stats displayed in the reports have sometimes different names but are composed of the same things, that’s a corollary of point 1.b

Definitions needed to understand Dr. Cat

What Dr Cat meant isn’t clear at all. Let’s take an example of the stat called “Infantry Attack While Marching vs. Player“. Depending on where you look this stat can cover different concepts. Two examples are given below.

View 1: A view of the Armory tab. This is one of the most basic places where you can have stats displayed. Note that the value in front of our relevant stat “Infantry Attack While Marching vs. Player” is raw here. It covers only this buff.
View 2: A view of the “Stats” tab. This is not raw data anymore. It’s computed from “raw” stats (as seen above). In this case “Infantry Attack While Marching vs. Player” is the sum the raw stats “Infantry Attack While Marching vs. Player” and “Infantry Attack vs. Player”.

To clarify this, Dr. Cat chooses to do something super interesting: give different names to different stats, even if they are called in the same way by WB.
The stats that you can read from gear, armory, research, talent or enhancement will be called “level 1 stats” or “raw stats” (see view 1).
The stats that you can read from the “Stats” tab in your profile (see view 2) will be denoted as “level 2 stats” or “profile stats“.

What is applied where

The tables below show how the raw stats are combined in the profile stats, but also in stats displayed in the reports after a fight

Raw Stats View

Summary of which stats, when you look at “raw stat”, or “level 1 stat” are included in which situation.

Profile Stats View

Table summarizing which stats are used by WB in different fight scenario. Note that, as we will cover later, “infantry attack vs player” should NOT be included in cases where you attack a sop. On fact it is already taken into account in the level 2 stat “Infantry attack while marching vs player”.

Tables explained

When you attack a sop (seat of power), in the reports you will see a statistic called “marcher infantry attack vs player at a seat of power“.
It is composed of level 1 stats (eg the value you can read on the gear, or in the research) the on Infantry Attack While Marching vs. Player, Infantry Attack vs. Player and Infantry Attack at sop.
If you want to compute it from your profile stats (level 2 stats) you have to sum Infantry Attack While Marching vs. Player and Infantry Attack at sop. You should NOT add the stat Infantry Attack vs. Player from your profile stats.

When you defend a sop, in the reports you will see a statistic called “infantry attack vs player at a seat of power”.
It is composed of level 1stats: Infantry Attack vs. Player and Infantry Attack at sop.
If you want to compute it from your profile stats (level 2 stats) you have to sum Infantry Attack vs. Player and Infantry Attack at sop.

When you attack a player, in the reports you will see a statistic called “infantry attack while marching vs player“.
It is composed of level 1stats (eg the value you can read on the gear, or in the research) the on Infantry Attack While Marching vs. Player and Infantry Attack vs. Player.
If you want to compute it from your profile stats (level 2 stats) you have just to look at Infantry Attack While Marching vs. Player. You should NOT add the stat Infantry Attack vs. Player from your profile stats.

When you defend vs players, in the reports you will see a statistic called “infantry attack vs player“.
It is composed of level 1stats (eg the value you can read on the gear, or in the research) the on only Infantry Attack vs. Player.
If you want to compute it from your profile stats (level 2 stats) you have just to look at Infantry Attack vs. Player.

Good, but what did WB change?

In our GOT:C – WB Logic Explained: “Marcher Stats” post, we stated that that “While marching vs. Player” does not work when attacking an SOP … surprise surprise … it DOES work now. Lets see when Wb will change this again 🤔.

This is it!
